I see the body as physical narrative. We exist, consciously or unconsciously, as embodied story.

We know from the experience of living in our own bodies that there is no separation between how we experience stress, how we hold our bodies, and how we relate to the stories of our lives.  Modern research into the science of fascia (the body’s connective tissue) is just beginning to validate how much memory our bodies are capable of holding.

When we work with symptoms on a deep level, we engage with held beliefs and stories.

I have embraced a treatment approach that honors this interrelationship.  I’ve studied Western biomedicine as well as integrative naturopathic therapies.  I trust the languages of osteopathy and Chinese medicine to be loyal to the continuities in the body-mind-narrative.  I’ve also been trained in an herbal lineage that emphasizes gathering information from the body.

These body-based systems of medicine help me interpret, explain, and treat symptoms as part of a greater whole to develop the most appropriate treatment plan for each patient.

I welcome you to book a Complimentary Introductory Conversation so we can get to know each other and establish your care.

Dr. Clair Hamilton has been so amazing to work with. We have done online appointments (during Covid) to evaluate my needs and to create/evolve a treatment plan to help address my health concerns, and in-person acupuncture work to support my overall health. Clair is knowledgeable, caring, and supportive. I would absolutely recommend working with her!

A commitment to equity

All identities are welcome, honored, and celebrated in my practice.

I am humbly committed to anti-racism. In my approach to healing work and in my personal life, I am in the ongoing practice of listening, learning, unlearning, and taking action to unroot the ways white supremacy shows up in our bodies, beliefs, relationships, and communities.

As a white woman of European ancestry doing healing work, I acknowledge that many of my therapeutic approaches are rooted in traditional and indigenous knowledge.   I relate to the lineage holders of these medicines with reverence, hold my practices as close to their intact forms as possible, and commit to returning power and authority to its ancestral sources -- past and emerging.

A sustained, recurring portion of my practice proceeds goes towards local BIPOC-owned and -led organizations.

For those that have the means, please consider donating towards the Community Healing Fund which helps extend my care and services towards BIPOC patients.   For those who hold identities that have been historically marginalized, please consider applying to receive support from the Community Healing Fund for your care.

My hope and our charge is that our individual healing contributes towards healing for us all.
