I offer two tracks for healing: naturopathic medicine is available via telemedicine platform. In-person bodywork and acupuncture appointments are available on a seasonal basis to patients who have established naturopathic care with me, existing patients, and via special arrangement through introductory calls..

As a practitioner of hands-on bodywork and acupuncture,

I see the body as physical narrative. We know from the experience of living in our own bodies that there is no separation between how we experience stress, how we hold our bodies and how we relate to the stories of our lives. Research on fascia, the body’s connective tissue, is finally validating the depth of intelligence we intuitively know our bodies hold.

In the clinic, I use a connective anatomy approach to arrive at your diagnosis and treatment. Connective anatomy allows us to address multiple related tissues and body systems that may be involved in your pain pattern. Each treatment session includes a combination of bodywork and acupuncture techniques, the proportions of which are determined based on patient preference and what will work best to address your condition.

Techniques include

  • ACUPUNCTURE — precise work applied to the meridians to restore balance, flow, + vitality

  • CUPPING — traditional therapy to relieve stagnation + pain

  • MYOFASCIAL RELEASE — slow sustained massage techniques to relieve tension + restrictions in the connective tissue + muscles

  • VISCERAL MANIPULATION — gentle therapeutic work for the abdomen + digestion

  • ACTIVE ISOLATED STRETCHING — assisted stretching for improved movement + athletics

  • CRANIAL SACRAL THERAPY — soothing osteopathic techniques for realigning the body + nervous system

  • MOXIBUSTION — warming therapies applied to the meridians to boost energy + support healing

What To Expect at Your First Appointment

Your initial appointment is 90 minutes. We begin with a 15-20 minute check-in about your current symptoms, areas of focus, and anything relevant that's come up since you completed your intake paperwork. If your concerns involve a physical pain pattern, we may do some physical assessments before moving into treatment.

Treatment takes place on a padded table with draping — the setup is similar to massage, and you are welcome to dress down to your comfort level or come in loose-fitting clothes that allow access around the arms, legs, and midsection. A table warmer is available.

I open each session with an East Asian medicine assessment — this may include pulse diagnosis, a gentle abdominal assessment, and evaluation of meridian imbalances. From there, we co-create a treatment plan based on what will be most effective and comfortable for you. This might mean acupuncture with needles or meridian work without needles if you are averse to needles. I often incorporate multiple forms of bodywork in treatment and this may include myofascial release, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy, active stretching, or some combination. If you've never had acupuncture before and are uncertain about needles, there are always other options — nothing about your care requires a modality you're not comfortable with.

First visits tend to involve more dialogue as we get oriented to each other and your case. That's by design.

One patient at a time, always. My practice is structured so that I am with you for the entirety of your visit. I do not run multiple rooms or see several patients per hour. Your treatment time is dedicated specifically to you.

Your first step towards getting started is scheduling a complimentary introductory conversation.

Dr. Hamilton is a body wizard! She understands how the body works and has a very deep understanding of human anatomy to treat chronic pain. I have been living with chronic shoulder pain and GERD for years. Finding out the two could be related was mind blowing to me. I couldn’t recommend her more if you have chronic pain and want to find relief and feel better.
Dr. Clair Hamilton has quite literally changed my life. I came to her frustrated and demoralized with our current “health care” system and found a thoughtful, caring and knowledgeable doctor. I have never felt more heard! Dr. Hamilton has addressed issues that I have been struggling with for years with understanding and compassion. I cannot recommend her care enough!! I have done both functional medicine visits with her as well as body work and I 100% recommend both.
I have had the pleasure of seeing Dr. Clair Hamilton for bodywork, and the results have been outstanding. I have struggled with chronic musculoskeletal conditions that were resistant to multiple other interventions, but under Dr. Hamilton’s care, I have seen significant improvement. She is congenial, deeply committed to understanding the root causes of your issues, and provides practical strategies for managing symptoms at home and preventing future recurrences.
